Cost Savings Idea from LANSCO COLORS

LANSCO 5021 Milori Blue offers costs savings to solvent paint formulators who can take advantage of its value in use. It is about 2/3’s the strength of PhthaloBlue but costs about half the price and is therefore a low cost replacement for Phthalo Blue in some systems.

There are important limitations to where LANSCO 5021 Milori Blue should be used. Lightfastness is a key consideration as this pigment’s good lightfastness drops off quickly in tints with TiO2. This pigment is also alkali sensitive and is not generally recommended in powder coatings. Drum enamel coatings and other solvent based applications where cost control is important are good target applications. The ink industry has long used this pigment to tint blacks to a more jet shade.

If you have grown tired of long lead times and ever increasing prices for titanium dioxide then LANSCO COLORS has a product for you - 8045 Buff Rutile Titanium Dioxide. This is a beige colored, opaque TiO2 grade that can be used to replace some or all of the white TiO2 in plastics and coatings formulations where the desired final color is not a bright white. Using 8045 Buff Rutile Titanium Dioxide will reduce your cost for pigments and at the same time allow you to save your white titanium dioxide for applications where it is really needed. LANSCO 8045 generally sells for 40% - 50% less than white TiO2.

LANSCO COLORS Opens New U.S. Technical Center

LANSCO COLORS (Pearl River, NY) marks another significant milestone with the opening of a new, purpose built Technical Center in Warwick, RI. The Technical Center is located close to the Providence Airport and enables LANSCO COLORS to better serve its customers’ needs in its fast growing U.S. market.

The new Technical Center has approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of well-equipped laboratory facilities and office area. The Technical Center will further strengthen LANSCO’s application capabilities and serve as the epicenter for collaborative projects with customers.

All of LANSCO’s extensive quality control work will also be done here. Donald Greenwald, LANSCO COLORS’ President, remarked that, “We believe that it is essential to test every lot of every product here in our U.S. lab even after it has been QC’d at the factories abroad. This way, our customers can have the confidence that the quality and consistency of our pigments will meet or exceed their requirements. We look forward to welcoming our customers from around the world to tour this new facility and meet with our Technical staff”.
