The 251 Yellow is a bright yellow powder produced by high temperature calcination. This pigment is chemically inert, has good UV stability, hiding power and heat resistance. It has exceptional durability and is generally used in applications where resistance to heat, light, and weather are needed. It is compatible with most resin systems and polymers and is non-warping, non-bleeding and non-migratory.
Typical applications are industrial baking and air-dry coatings, powder coatings, printing inks and dispersions. The 251 can also be used in markets for the coloration of concrete and other applications where equivalent chemistry is needed. Additional uses can be found in various plastics applications.
The 251 Yellow is also FDA approved for use in polymeric food contact articles regulated under the Code of Federal Regulations, 21 CFR Part 178.3297 Colorants for Polymers with limitations as described therein.
