1722 is a barium free yellow shade red frequently used as a replacement for Red Lake C (53:1) where more lightfastness and alkali resistance is required.
1722 is used mainly in printing inks for alkali resistance and because it is barium free. 1722 is used in water flexo and solvent inks. Other ink markets can include textile printing, offset and gravure printing. 1722 can also be used in the paint industry in air drying systems and in emulsion paints and selected industrial systems although caution must be taken as it may have a tendency to bloom. Other areas of application can include paper mass surface coloration, colored pencils, artists’ colors. 1722 is not recommended for plastics.
